Position: Director, Historic Program

About the Role

SRI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of the Historic Program to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and management of our historic built environment projects, historical archaeology, historical research, oral history, historic preservation planning, and historic architecture/landscape architecture projects. This role requires a strong leader who can mentor and develop a team, manage diverse projects, ensure compliance with federal and state standards, and drive business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Historic Program, ensuring strategic growth and quality
  • Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering collaboration and professional
  • Oversee project life cycles, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality
  • Conduct and direct research, analysis, and resource
  • Prepare, review, and ensure quality technical reports and
  • Maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and oversee proposal development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and encourage staff

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in research, fieldwork, and analysis in the Historic Program’s focus
  • Strong knowledge of cultural resource laws (e.g., NHPA, NEPA, ARPA) and GIS/database integration.
  • Proven leadership, project management, and client relations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical report
  • Advanced degree in a related
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, with 5+ years in a leadership
  • Relevant certifications or licenses may be
