Row 10 Historic Preservation Solutions, LLC is hiring! We are looking for a full time, entry-level cultural
resource specialist who wants to join a small, women-owned business based in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Typical projects and tasks for this position include:

  • Preparation of National Register of Historic Places determinations of eligibility and nominations,
  • Survey and photography of historic buildings and structures,
  • Preparation of historic standing structure forms, including writing building descriptions,
  • Conduct historic research in support of historic contexts and cultural resources reports,
  • Support senior staff in consultation efforts including background research, survey, and historic
    property identification,
  • Create supporting graphics for NRHP nominations, survey reports, and similar documents.

While this position is remote, we are looking for candidates in the New Orleans metropolitan region. Some travel and fieldwork will be required, such as architectural survey or archival research in repositories. Travel and fieldwork will be completed within a standard work week.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Master’s degree in historic preservation, history, architectural history, or a related field,
  • Strong research and writing skills,
  • Experience with primary and secondary source research,
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a group,
  • Experience photographing buildings, structures, and objects,
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS or similar software,
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Valid driver’s license.

Experience with the National Historic Preservation Act is not required but is advantageous.

Salary range: $45,000 – $55,000 with negotiable benefits. Equipment will be provided.
