Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. is looking for a Project Director to work from one of our Colorado offices. Project management experience and understanding of archaeological methods are a must for this position. This position is full-time, temporary and eligible for some benefits provided by Metcalf, including paid sick time, paid holidays, 401k plan, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The wage for this position ranges from $24.00 to $34.00/hour, depending on experience. This position is also eligible for a flexible schedule and partial remote work.  Depending on winter workloads, this position could transition into regular (year-round) employment.

Qualifications

  • M.A. or M.S. in Anthropology is required for this position
  • Sufficient experience to be listed in direct charge on antiquities permits in at least two states within the company’s operating region
  • Working knowledge of the prehistory and history in one or more of the company’s service regions
  • Working knowledge of the flora, fauna, geology, and lithic sources in one or more of Metcalf’s service regions
  • Familiarity with current research methods and trends in archaeology
  • At least five years of experience conducting archaeological investigations in a field setting
  • At least three years of experience supervising an archaeological field crew and participating in project management
  • Active First Aid/CPR certification is preferred (may be obtained after hire)

  • Able to work in an office setting
