Archaeological Supervisor – Supervisor: Indiana

We are seeking an Archaeological Supervisor to join our growing Indiana team, reporting to the Indiana Regional Manager and working from our Indianapolis office. The right person will enjoy:

The salary range for this position is $22-$28/hr based on experience.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will have experience with leading and directing archaeological field surveys and writing results reports. Experience with Phase I and Phase II investigations and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) evaluations is required. Familiarity with the Indiana Department of Transportation’s (INDOT) environmental process, especially with regard to Section 106 is desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills, familiarity with standard office software packages, and the ability to work both independently and as a team member are important.  A bachelors’ degree in archaeology, history, public history, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred.

Our desired, well-rounded candidate will be able to lead field crews and complete surveys to meet work scopes, prepare technical reports and proposals, coordinate and communicate with Project Managers and Principal Investigators regarding project status, and maintain schedules and project budgets. Field work may include overnight travel within Indiana and neighboring states.
