The Applied Anthropology Laboratories is seeking to develop a pool of on-call archaeological field technicians for use on a project-by-project basis. They have projects pending for imminent fieldwork.

This position will perform Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 archaeological surveys and related
laboratory analysis as assigned by Director, under direction of Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or
Principal Investigator.

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field with
relevant training in Anthropology and/or Archaeology. Training in laboratory analysis of prehistoric
cultural materials. At least one year full-time experience in Midwestern archaeology, and one year
of supervisory experience in Cultural Resource Management or under similar working conditions.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without
employer sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications: Prior experience conducting archaeological reconnaissance in a
supervisory capacity on land owned by the State of Indiana.
