The Applied Anthropology Laboratories is seeking to develop a pool of on-call archaeological crew chiefs for use on a project-by-project basis. We have projects pending for imminent fieldwork. Join a team of experts as we Learn Work Discover!

This position will perform Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 archaeological surveys and related laboratory analysis as assigned by Director, under direction of Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator. The rate is $17.50 – $20 based on experience.

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field with relevant training in Anthropology and/or Archaeology. Training in laboratory analysis of prehistoric cultural materials.  At least one year full-time experience in Midwestern archaeology, and one year of supervisory experience in Cultural Resource Management or under similar working conditions.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications: Prior experience conducting archaeological reconnaissance in a supervisory capacity on land owned by the State of Indiana.
