The American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA) & the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) have joined together to collect data on the current state of recruiting in the CRM industry – and we need your help!

From time to time NCSHPO establishes committees to study issues of interest to SHPOs and in turn, the greater preservation community. Currently, a NCSHPO Workforce Committee is examining both the internal conditions and the external forces impacting employment and staffing within SHPOs, and in turn, the cultural resources management community, throughout the United States.

The committee has put together a short survey to get more information on the experiences of CRM firms surrounding employee recruitment. We hope that you can take just a few minutes to provide the experiences of your firm.

The data from this survey will be used for a report that the committee aims to complete no later than July 31, 2024. It is our hope that this report may be useful in advocating for additional funding for historic preservation, for increasing appropriation levels to recruit and retain qualified staff, and for the development and potential expansion of the CRM workforce.

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete, and we hope you will do so now. Responses will close on July 17, 2024. We appreciate your contribution to the survey and thank you so much for your time and effort!
