On-Call Archaeology Field Technician Openings (6 total)

Gray & Pape, a national cultural heritage firm, is seeking six archaeological field technicians for a Phase 1 project in West Virginia.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Project duration – 3-4 weeks (anticipated), beginning January 9, 2024.
- Pay – dependent on experience; range $16.50-$23.00 per hour
- Per diem rate – $51.00 per day
- Single occupancy lodging may be provided with weekend hotel rooms, dependent on distance from project location to residence.
- Schedule is Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday off, 8-10 hour shifts anticipated.
- There will be some drive time provided on this project.
The Archaeology Field Technician performs archaeological fieldwork, lab work, or GIS work under the direction and supervision of a Gray & Pape Project Manager/Principal Investigator. Applicants approved for the pool must have (at a minimum):
- A./B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, Tribal Historic Preservation, or related field with prior coursework in, or demonstrated knowledge of archaeology, prehistory, and history
- Archaeological field school experience
- Ability to use GPS unit and Total Station
- Ability to use Digital/point-and-shoot/DSLR cameras
- Capability to take detailed notes
- Demonstrated work reliability.
